I know, it’s been a while. Or actually a long while. Never the less I’m back and I have something special for you! Today the Swedish astronaut Christer Fuglesang was supposed to go to space but for some reason they postponed it until tomorrow. Christer will be bringing 33 bags of the Swedish candy Bilar on his space shuttle. Bilar means cars and that is what the candies are, car shaped. However for this special occassion a very limited batch of space shuttles has been made instead of cars. 100 bags have been produced and 1 of them arrived in my mailbox today. And hopefully I’ll be sending it to YOU!

So what do you have to do? Ice cream indulgence

    Recipe for Ice cream indulgence

    Ingredients:
    *Your favourite ice cream (home made or if you’re lazy something from the store, preferably in a high plastic container so it won’t get wet).

    *Your favourite bath foam (in this case a “Comforter” bubble bar from Lush).

    *optional: music and a book.

    Method:
    Fill the bath tub with warm water using your favourite bath foam. Take out the ice cream from the freezer, bring a spoon and then take a lovely bath while eating ice cream.

The past period has been very busy and even though I’ve missed the blog, I haven’t had any inspiration to cook or write. But since last week I’ve started to cook more and more, and now I’ll blog on a more regular basis again.

Yesterday we went to church with samples of Easter food for the traditional blessing of food. I’ve written about it several times before, for example here and here. The contents of the basket we had for breakfast today, outside on our terrace in the sun as it’s finally spring in Stockholm.

The below cake is a simple lemon sponge cake that I baked today. I bought the mold with Bugs Bunny in Rome last year and as bunnies are asociated with Easter I thought it would be nice to use the mold now during Easter.

The traditional Christmas barszcz (spicy beetroot soup) is simmering on the stove right now and I can´t wait to try it!

Wow, it’s already December 1st! So little time and so many things to bake and cook, not even mentioning the Christmas shopping! But there’s no sense getting all stressed right now, first I’ll take another sip of mulled wine together with the first piece of handmade chocolate in the chocolate advent calendar från Sv. Michelsen that I bought overpriced (!) at the airport in Copenhagen a few days ago (I’ve been there again for work). Have a nice 1st of December!

Do men need their own food magazine?

I was surprised today when I received a press release for a new Swedish food magazine especially for men. I just can’t figure out why there is a need for a food magazine for men, other than the magazine wants sponsors and ads that are directed to men. I havn’t seen the magazine yet, so I probably shouldn’t question it. But I saw some notes about the contents and if I was a man I would be affended. Affended that my interests allegedly would be where to find the cheapest beer or being interested in what relationship semi famous people have to coffee. No, stay online and read all lovely food blogs instead, there are plenty of excellent food blogs written by men:
